Factory Load Comparison
Quality ammunition is expensive, especially Match Ammunition. Generally speaking, you choose ammunition based upon advertisement, recommendation or just whatever is available. Custom Loaded Ammunition
Using only quality and meticulously prepped brass with exact neck tension we choose high BC and accurate bullets. Sizing and seating is done with Match Grade dies. Powders that are temperature stable and provide proper load density are chosen and give low ES single digit SD. Match Primers are used and seated with Primal Rights CPS for consistent seating depth, Our attention to detail will provide high quality ammunition for your rifle. Velocity Validation
You find printed drop data on boxes of factory loaded ammunition or published on the internet that will not match the actual velocity shot through your specific rifle. Even when shot through a chronograph it is “close” to actual velocity data. Shooting the load at extended range targets where actual drop is measured the true velocity can be determined and programmed into a ballistic calculator for an accurate ballistic solution. Being 100% confident when you dial in the MOA drop for that yardage and precisely placing that shot on target is what we will achieve. Barrel Break In and Rifle Zero
New rifle barrels need proper barrel break in. They have burrs, imperfections, sharp edges and high spots left from the machining process. Smoothing out all these imperfections, you will have more consistent grouping and less fouling. Properly breaking in your barrel is a critical step in the overall accuracy of your rifle. Shooting Classes and Long Range Shooting School
There are incredibly precise rifles being built by talented rifle builders. The ability for the shooter to maximize the Precision of those rifles and Accurately place the bullet on the target repeatably can only be achieved with a proper shooting foundation. Rifle Guru teaches you how to properly setup behind the rifle, eliminate shooter induced torque and make deliberate shots focused on a high level of accuracy every time. We will be shooting in a variety of locations in a variable environmental conditions. And training with the equipment you will be using while hunting or competing. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering all aspects of Long Range Shooting. 1 on 1 training allows us to focus on the individual student with better results than larger classes with a quickly moving schedule and curriculum. We limit the instruction to a maximum of 2 students at a time. The Long Range Shooting School is done Boise, Idaho and near Idaho City. The option of shooting indoors is also available. Professional Scope Mounting
Using a quality optic and having it mounted properly is as import as the rifle you are shooting. This is the first step to maximizing the accuracy of your rifle. I have personally interviewed local shops that will either mount your scope for “free” when you purchase a rifle from them or do it very inexpensively. When I ask them about their experience and the detailed steps they take when mounting rifle scopes, I often hear “we can’t or "we don’t do that". Professional Rifle Cleaning
There are as many opinions on rifle cleaning as products available. My goal was to find what worked best for me to effectively and efficiently clean the hard carbon build up, carbon ring and eliminate powder and copper fouling. I have found a combination of products I use depending on what I am trying to achieve. The Sharp Shooter-R products work extremally well along with ThorroClean, CLR, Free All and Kroil depending on what you are specifically trying to clean. I prefer the J. Dewey and Bore Tech Nylon Coated Cleaning Rods and Bore Guides along with Iooso Eliminator Premium Bore Brushes. The bottom line is the hard carbon and carbon ring need thoroughly cleaned to maintain accuracy and avoid excessive pressure build up. The chamber and bolt cleaning/lubrication are also crucial step in having a smooth, proper functioning rifle. J. Dewey and Bore Tech make a great chamber cleaning kits that allows you to clean the chamber and lug recess area. Proper chamber cleaning does not allow cleaning products to remain in the chamber and enter the barrel that can create over pressure. AMP Induction Brass Annealing and Cleaning
Induction annealing is the process of softening the necks of cases, through heating in an electrically contactless manner. There is no heating element as such; the only thing to get hot is the case. The magnetic field is focused to maximize the eddy currents and heating in the location where it is specifically required, i.e. the neck and shoulder. AMP produces repeatable, consistent neck and shoulder hardness which should be done every time you reload! This results in lower Extreme Spread and Standard Deviation, in turn will give you tighter groups without flyers at long range!
